XL Magnum 1/2″ Walnut Round Handle Ferrocerium Rod
100% Handmade in the USA. Hand crafted in our Arizona based shop because there needed to be a superior alternative to: plastic handles breaking, lanyard holes wearing down because they had no metal lining, and ferro rods coming loose from the handle on strikers. Bushcraft Supply’s ferro rods are reliable and will give you thousands of strikes. Magnum ferro rod specifications: -Handle is walnut and 2” long, 1” diameter round with a stainless steel lanyard hole. The walnut handle is both strong and aesthetically pleasing. -Rod is 1/2" in diameter giving much more striking surface area than most other ferro rods on the market. Overall length is approximately 6" with a 4" striking surface. These measurements may vary somewhat due to their handmade nature. Bushcraft Supply’s exclusive design includes grooves carved into the base of the rod itself, strengthening the attachment to the handle that is secured with 2 ton epoxy. It is highly unlikely that the rod will ever pull out of the handle due to the increased surface area for adhesion created by this process. 3/8″ Walnut Ferrocerium Rod with Round Handle and Stainless Lanyard Hole
100% Handmade in the USA. I decided to start crafting these myself in my shop because I was tired of plastic handles breaking, lanyard holes wearing down because of no metal lining, and ferro rods coming loose from the handle on strikers I bought. My Ferro rods are reliable and will give you thousands of strikes. No machine processes here! Handle is solid walnut with a stainless steel lanyard hole. Wood is finished with three coats of Boiled Linseed Oil and you are welcome to add coats in the future to maintain the finish. The Linseed Oil penetrates the wood, protecting, strengthening, and preserving the handle. Rod is 3/8" in diameter giving more striking surface area than most other ferro rods on the market. Overall length is approximately 5" with a 3" striking surface. These measurements may vary somewhat due to their handmade nature. I carve grooves into the base of the rod itself and attach it with 2 ton epoxy, making these rods superior. It is highly unlikely that the rod will ever pull out of the handle due to the increased surface area for adhesion created by this process. Handmade Reclaimed Hickory 3.8″ Ferrocerium Rod W/ Carbon Fiber Caps
This is a one of a kind item made from a cutoff piece of hickory from a collection of vintage hickory handles in my great grandfathers tool collections. While rehandling the tools, we have repurposed the handles for ferro rods. This hickory was used as a tool handle 40 to 60 years ago. It is approximately 1.25" wide and 1" deep so the handle is slightly ovular in shape. Handle is about 1.5" long. It has 1/6" carbon fiber caps on the top and bottom of the handle.This would be a great companion to your hickory axe and is the only one like it we will make so grab it now! Micro Altoids Tin Kit Natural Micarta Ferrocerium Rod
These micro ferro rods are handmade right here in the USA in Bushcraft Supply's Custom Shop. These are designed to fit in any Altoids tin kit and take up very little space. Includes a black canvas micarta handle that is 3/8" it diameter with a 1/8" diameter rod with an overall length of 3.5". They include a small stainless steel lanyard hole that can accommodate nano cord or similarly sized cordage (will not fit paracord). Handle provides a much better grip than just having the rod alone.
