Hand crafted in our Arizona based shop because there needed to be a superior alternative to: plastic handles breaking, lanyard holes wearing down because they had no metal lining, and ferro rods coming loose from the handle on strikers. Bushcraft Supply’s ferro rods are reliable and will give you thousands of strikes. Magnum ferro rod specifications: -Handle is walnut and 2” long, 1” diameter round with a stainless steel lanyard hole. The walnut handle is both strong and aesthetically pleasing. -Rod is 1/2" in diameter giving much more striking surface area than most other ferro rods on the market. Overall length is approximately 6" with a 4" striking surface. These measurements may vary somewhat due to their handmade nature. Bushcraft Supply’s exclusive design includes grooves carved into the base of the rod itself, strengthening the attachment to the handle that is secured with 2 ton epoxy. It is highly unlikely that the rod will ever pull out of the handle due to the increased surface area for adhesion created by this process.
