"Lighterd" knot aka Fatwood aka Blind Pig isresin-rich heartwood of pine trees. It is waterproof and resistant to rot. It is found is stumps, tap root, and joints of pine trees. It lights easily and can burn for a long time. This wood is from Longleaf Pine in Brevard County Florida.
